LEDA STARCHEVA (1960)

Leda Starcheva (b. 1960) graduated from the National Academy of Art in 1984 and has a degree in Sculpture. Since then, she has been participating in group exhibitions of Bulgarian art in Bulgaria, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. In 1996 she was granted a residence scholarship at Cite Internationale Des arts in Paris, and that same year she won the annual award of the Club “Between Colleagues” in the name of Dimitar Arnaoudov. In 2004 she won an award of the annual exhibition of department “Sculpture”of the Union of Bulgarian artists. In recent years she has presented solo exhibitions at Vaska Emanouilova Gallery, Sofia in 2012, Gallery Sofia-Press in 2013, The Mission Gallery, Sofia in 2015, Gallery U P.A.R.K. Plovdiv in 2019, Arosita Gallery, Sofia in 2019. She participated in the Spring Festival of Contemporary Art in 2016 in Blagoevgrad. Her works can be seen in collections of the National Gallery in Sofia, the city galleries of Silistra and Stara Zagora, the collection of the University of Connecticut and in the collection of Darik Radio. She lives and works in Sofia, Bulgaria.
